Liberty Hill ISD is proud to announce Joy Hudgens as the new Principal of Bar W Elementary School. 

Mrs. Hudgens has worked in education for almost 20 years, serving as a teacher, instructional specialist, educational support services coordinator, and assistant principal with Leander ISD, Hill Country Christian School of Austin, and other private school academies. Most recently, Mrs. Hudgens has served as the Assistant Principal for Santa Rita Elementary School with Liberty Hill ISD for the past three years. 

Joy Hudgens graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She then went on to pursue her Masters in Educational Administration from Concordia University of Texas in 2017. 

“I am excited and honored to be named the Principal of Bar W Elementary. I love what I do; it is my calling! I believe school should be a joyful place where students are engaged in their learning and empowered to reach their full potential,” Mrs. Hudgens stated, “I am a relational leader and truly value the collaboration and innovation of my staff as we work to enhance systems to support learning for all students.” 

Mrs. Hudgens and her husband, Phillip, have been married for almost 25 years. They have four daughters, two of whom are currently attending college and two that are in high school. Outside of work, the Hudgens family enjoys spending time outdoors visiting the lake, beach, or mountains. With four daughters, their home is never short of dancing, singing, and laughter!

Angela de los Santos

Assistant Principal Angela de los SantosMiss de los Santos is a dedicated educator and Assistant Principal hailing from Houston, TX. Angie earned her bachelor's degree from Sam Houston State University and pursued her master's degree at Texas State University. With a rich background in education, she taught elementary school for 20 years before transitioning into administration. Last year, Angie played a pivotal role in the opening of Bar W Elementary, where she continues to serve as Assistant Principal with enthusiasm and commitment. Her two children, Joaquin and Olivia, are also students at Bar W, further solidifying her deep connection to the school community. Outside of work, Angie enjoys staying active with running, attending live music events, cheering on Austin FC, and cherishing moments with her loved ones. Her passion for education and vibrant personality make her a valued leader in both her professional and personal life.
